Plate XVI: Petaurus breviceps. "Size small; fur soft and silky. General coloration as in P. sciureus, but with the dark strip down the back generally indistinct. Ears large. Relative lengths of fore toes in the order 4, 5, 3, 2, 1. Length of head and body about 7 inches; of tail 8 inches. Distribution.-Northern and Eastern Australia. Introduced into Tasmania in 1835."
